Drakes Hotel unveil new album

* Local dream-pop duo Drakes Hotel just released their new album, Logic Adopts Senses, last week. Drakes Hotel is the husband and wife tandem of producer/guitarist Chris Y. and singer Amy Drake. No More Waiting

Blue Bird have several songs just waiting to take flight.

The local band fronted by Marta Fiedler recorded their self-titled debut about two years ago. The album comes out this week, culminating in a CD release show Saturday, June 16th at the Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

Fiedler says some of the album's best songs have never been played by the band before.

The Seen win Maha Music Festival’s opening slot

* Local punk-power pop rockers The Seen will open this year's Maha Music Festival, Saturday, August 11th at Aksarben Village's Stinson Park, 2285 South 67th St. The band got the slot by virtue of winning a popular vote held at last weekend's Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards' Summer Music Showcase, which was held at various venues in the downtown Benson area.
