West African music and dance take the forefront when the African Culture Connection (ACC) troupe led by Charles Ahovissi performs at Metro's International Fairl. Ahovissi traveled the world with the Ballet National of Benin (his native country) before winding up in Omaha, where he heads his touring performing-teaching group. ACC presents celebratory rituals of African culture in performances and educational programs for schools and community organizations throughout the region. The award-winning troupe is renowned for the high energy of its performances, all wrapped up in colorful costumes. The festival features more entertainment as well as food and displays.
