FASH FLOOD

In the wake of another thriving Omaha Fashion Week (Is anyone else exhausted?) there are several upcoming events to keep Omaha’s style community on their toes.

Amid an eclectic mix of vintage clothing and one-of-a-kind locally crafted accessories, Old Market boutique Coriander will add an artistic collection to their space Friday. Coriander invites style and art fans to attend an opening reception for Omaha artist Bill Hoover’s new work on paper and canvas, titled Maps. The reception Sept. 2nd reception, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., is at 1028 Howard Street in the lower level of the Old Market Passageway. Visit billhooverart.com or hellocoriander.com for more information.

The following Thursday, September 8th, Fashion’s Night Out will take place locally, and on a global scale. Omaha, New York, Milan, London and many other cities will participate in an event celebrating the fashion community and recognizing local boutiques. For example, Old Market Boutique Trocadéro (located at 1208 1/2 Howard Street) is partnering with Fringes Salon & Spa, Bliss Bakery and Stokes Grill & Bar to provide complimentary makeovers, appetizers and desserts for their customers. Those participating can shop from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (and even later at many other boutiques) while listening to music from DJ Mello Mic. There's a chance to win prizes through raffles all night. Other participating boutiques include Curbside Clothing, Scout: Dry Goods & Trade, Garment District and more. For a complete list of all locally participating boutiques, go to the event for Fashion’s Night Out Omaha on Facebook.
