The Power of Nine lays in the strength of each individual artist in the upcoming exhibition curated by interdisciplinary artist Jody Boyer. The ideas that brings the artists together is their ability to push artistic boundaries and make a community impact—5% of art sales will benefit Deerpark Neighborhood Association. Boyer gathered publisher/educator Calvin Banks who may exhibit some of his figurative drawings or paintings; printmaker/educator Amy Haney; recycled digital-artist Brad Miller; conceptual installation artist/ceramicist Amy Nelson; video artist/UNO art professor Russ Nordman; sculptor Greg Rishoi; mixed media painter/sculptor and MCC instructor Bart Vargas and Boyer herself who also teaches at UNO Sure to be thought provoking with the crew of artists, the exhibit is said to range from “contemplative to cynical, from investigative to outlandish.”
