Giving Props: For years, actors and audiences have been awed by the often custom-made or vintage props used in the Omaha Community Playhouse’s productions. When a production closed, the props sat in set storage, waiting for the next big scene that often never came. This week, shoppers have the chance to see these much-loved props again, and be able to purchase a piece of OCP’s history. A properties sale, at the Omaha Community Playhouse in the Hitchcock Rehearsal Hall at 6915 Cass Street, will include vintage furniture and more. The sale will run on Thursday, August 4th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, August 5th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closet Clean Out: Dundee’s Scout: Dry Goods & Trade is buying fall and winter clothing, shoes and accessories. In fact, they’ll be buying spring and summer clothing through August. The popular boutique is known for carrying vintage and locally designed items as well as big brands like Frye, American Apparel and Anthropologie. Goods can be traded in for cash or store credit, and they’re buying seven days a week until 30 minutes before store closing. Scout is located at 5019 Underwood Avenue and shoppers can visit ilovescout.com for store hours and buying guidelines.
