6:30 p.m.; Tickets for the 2011-2012 season are $14 for adults; $10 for students/seniors

Omaha Area Youth Orchestra’s All-Orchestra Concert

This concert offers audiences the opportunity to hear all four auditioned orchestras of the OAYO: Youth Chamber Strings, Youth Conservatory Orchestra, Youth Philharmonic and Youth Symphony. Music Director Aviva Segall said the concert shows the progression of the young musicians from one ensemble to the next.

Featured works on the program include Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, Rossini’s “William Tell” Overture and Copland’s “Variations on a Shaker Melody.” Other highlights include violinist Jennifer Ahn’s performance of the last movement of Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” and a piece that includes authentic whale songs.

This is the first concert for OYAO’s new Associate Conductor, Brandon Brown.
