Pick: Jar Scehpers is pleased to present his new exhibit called “Materialization.” The gallery will give the viewer insight into animal hybrids and maybe some evolution. He uses old materials to over-produce insects and animals. The playfulness is also met with violent ends, as his work possibly plays commentary on modern life. “Creature Carousel” is probably the focal point because it’s a dangling replica of several amalgams where the viewer pulls down on a hand-crank system to make them spin and coexist. Yet, their rough construction is perhaps Schepers’ take on genetic engineering. This isn’t an exhibit to miss. It’s both gentle and intense.
