Give a Seed, Take a Seed, Fill a Need

Nebraska Seed Share will be hosting an event January 30 to share live, pollinated seeds. The events will take place from noon to 2pm at the following locations: La Vista Public Library at 9110 Giles Road (Contact Rose Barcal 402 537 3900), Sump Memorial Library at 222 North Jefferson Street (Matthew Kovar 402 898 8830), Bellevue Public Library at  1003 Lincoln Road (Gordon Wyant 402 293 3175), Springfield Memorial Library at 665 Main Street (Connie Manzer 402 253 2797), Douglas County Extension office at 8015 W Center Rd ( Kathleen Cue 402 444 7804), Blair Public Library at 210 S 17th Street in Blair ( Gayle Roberts 402 426 3617), Baright Public Library at 5555 S 77th Street (Francine Canfield 402 221 7636) and Habitat for Humanity at 1701 N 24th (Mark Brannen 402 415 3297)


The community is hosting several fundraisers to aid those affected by the fire in The Old Market. The Waiting Room will host All Young Girls Are Machine Guns with several other artists February 3rd. Food from Espana, Orsis, B&G Tasty Foods, and more will be served. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here

Night Owl will host M’s staff at an event on January 25. Several signature dishes (Lavosh, Buffalo Chicken Soup) and drinks (Love Potion #9) will be on hand for the event. All  ingredients for this event have been donated by local vendors, so all proceeds raised will be donated. To learn more about the vendors and spread the word, head to the event page at
