Omaha’s first Fried Food Fest takes place June 20th at River’ Edge Park. Admission is free and gets you all you can listen to live music. A beer garden, mechanical bull, and kid’s zone will entertain for hours while local restaurants and food trucks wow you with their craziest fried creations. Vendors and food trucks from all over the metro will be on hand to satisfy your cravings for all things crunchy.

Pizza Worth Waiting For

This evening, The Waiting Room will host the 7th Annual Pizza Review, featuring slices and samples from 15 local pizzerias. A portion of the proceeds from the sold out event will be helping to provide scholarships for the culinary students at the Institute for the Culinary Arts at Metro Community College, some of whom will be on hand to help serve the pizza. The scholarships are provided through the Omaha Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. Will you be attending this year’s event? The Millard Business Association is proud to sponsor the third annual KCBS sanctioned Nebraska State Championship barbeque event ‘Ribstock’. The Ribstock event was created to help raise money for Project Wee Care, which provides food, clothing and gifts for families in the area. Advance tickets are available and $15 gets you access to both days of the event with three $1 food and drink coupons. Day of, tickets are $10 at the door. Children 12 and under attend for free.

The Zydeco Festival will take over the Pavilion at Turner Park with a full day of music, Creole- and Cajun-style food, and activities. Zydeco is a New Orleans born music genre combining elements of blues and R&B with some Southwestern Creole Soul. Dance the night away while enjoying the authentic taste of New Orleans! Fireworks will follow the show.
