New Food Truck Concept Launches in Omaha

Peanut Butter Johnnys, a food truck specializing in nut butter sandwiches, made its Omaha debut at the Nebraska AIDS Project’s Night of a Thousand Stars gala  Dec. 5. Now its open  for regular business at Scriptown Brewing Company in the Blackstone District.  Initially the truck will serve food at Scriptown Thursdays through Saturdays during its hours of operation: 4-11pm on Thursdays and 4pm-midnight with the potential to expand to other days as well.

“We think PBJohnnys will be a great complement to our beer offerings,” stated John Fahrer, one of the owners of Scriptown.  “We can already envision more opportunities for food and beer pairings.”

In addition to specially designed sandwiches and make-your-own selections, PBJohnnys will also feature sandwiches designed by area chefs including Clayton Chapman of the Grey Plume, Patricia Barron of Big Mama’s and Paul Kulik of Le Bouillon.  Those sandwiches will appear as specials in 2016 with a percentage of proceeds to benefit the chefs’ charities of choice.

“We’re excited to deliver this type of innovative menu to Omaha and add to the existing food truck culture that is here,” said John Jelinek, President of PBJohnnys.  “We think the community will enjoy traditional favorites like peanut butter and banana added with a twist, or a chance to make up their own combinations.”

As part of its commitment to the community, the food truck is focused on working with local businesses to source supplies.
