Omaha Gives, Do You?

The 24 hour charitable campaign Omaha Gives takes place this Wednesday, May 20. Mercy Housing, a national non-profit working to provide affordable housing and support to low income families and those with special needs is asking you to give, too. You can help support Mercy Housing in their mission to home those in need by visiting any of the following restaurants on May 20th:

Red Robin 14455 W Maple Rd will donate 10% of all proceeds. Diners must mention Mercy Housing.

Noodles & Company 203 S 72nd will be donating 25% of all proceeds during the hours of 5pm-9pm. Diners must mention Omaha Gives Day or Mercy Housing.

 Firehouse Subs 715 S 72nd will be donating 15% of all proceeds. People must bring in the flier

Firehouse Subs Legacy – 17010 Wright Plaza will be donating 15% of all proceeds.

New Name, Same Funnel Cakes

LaVista Daze has been rebranded to honor active duty military and veterans, as well as to represent the city’s Summer kick-off. The Salute To Summer Festival will still feature all of your favorite vendors, as well as a parade. LaVista area restaurants will take up residence in the dozens of booths offering everything from Pastabilities to 402 BBQ. Grab an alligator burger from Hut 1 Hut food truck and relax in the beer garden, or settle in for some henna art by Sumaiya. Food and fun for the whole family this Thursday through Sunday. Don’t Worry, Be Hoppy!

There is still time to purchase tickets to Omaha’s Beer Fest. The event will take place June 5 and 6 at Stinson Park at Aksarben Village. Featuring a Homebrewer’s Expo and flavors from over 60 breweries, this will be an event to remember! And with every sip, you’re helping support Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. 300 Seconds To Pizza Perfection

Pie Five Pizza opened a second location in Omaha at Settler’s Creek over the weekend. The new-to-Papillion pizzeria boasts a 5 minute or less turn around on your pie, with a choose your own adventure style of preparation. You choose your crust, sauces, and toppings, approving your pie throughout its construction. In celebration of their grand opening weekend, Pie Five donated all proceeds from pre-opening events to The YMCA of Greater Omaha. A little Karma with your Pizza?
