Farmer’s Market Preps for Open

Saturday May 7 is the opening day for The Omaha Farmer’s Market at The Old Market. The following morning is the kickoff for Aksarben’s Farmer’s market, both of which will run every weekend until the 3rd weekend in October. New to the scene this year, Westroads will be hosting a Farmer’s Market of their own every Saturday beginning May 28, and continuing until October 22. Hoping to create a concert vibe at the new market, coordinators will be featuring local musicians playing acoustically at the heart of the market. Interested in playing? Contact coordinators with a recording or link to your video by emailing music@westroadsfarmersmarket.com

Proseed with Optimism

Do you enjoy dining at Enzo’s, Gandolfo’s, Corkscrew, Dragon Café, Flavor’s Indian Cuisine, Garden Café, Cascio’s, Charlie’s on the Lake, Dave and Buster’s, Dolci, Flatiron, or Bernie’s Pizza? What if you could automatically donate 5% of your bill to your favorite cause every time you dined out? Proseeds is a local cause whose aim is to make raising money for your favorite non-profit as painless as eating pizza. May 3 is the official kick-off and ribbon cutting, and you can sign up and start raising money for a cause close to your heart that day. Want to make sure your favorite restaurant and cause are on the list? Head to https://www.giveproseeds.com/# and check it out. Signing up is easy, and Proseeds takes the guilt out of ordering Chinese takeout for the 3rd time this week.

Bloody Mary, Quite Contrary, How Does Your Vodka Flow?

This year, the democratic process has definitely been called into question. Votes miscounted, voters denied access, and a great deal of mudslinging. If you’re looking to restore your faith in the system, Nebraska City is hosting The Bloody Mary State Championship this Sunday at The

Fox Center. Let your voice be heard (Not too loudly, some folks will be there to recover from their Saturday night) when you sample and vote for your favorite spicy blend. Tickets are still available, so head to https://www.facebook.com/events/1812387685655776/
