Check Your Chicken
Outbreaks of two strains of salmonella have been linked to Barber Foods chicken products, Meijer and Sysco, as well as Omaha Steaks stuffed chicken breasts. Chicken Cordon Bleu date code ECREK, Chicken Kiev date codes EIBOK and ECBIK, and Breast of Chicken with Broccoli & Cheese date codes ECEHK and ECEOK are the affected items. Some items appear cooked, as they are breaded and browned, but raw on the inside. Omaha Steaks has contacted all parties who made purchases of the suspected product, but the cdc recommends checking recall lists against any poultry you may have in your freezer, along with thorough cooking of all chicken products, use of a meat thermometer, and disinfecting of all cooking surfaces before and after use. For a complete list of recalled items, go to http://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/frozen-chicken-entrees-07-15/recall-advice.html

The pizza will be missed by Bene’s many loyal diners, as will the family motto of “Peace, Love, and Family.
