Zydeco Returns to Midtown Crossing

Two new shops coming soon, and an online vegan butcher makes the cut

Play it Again, Willy!

Willy Theisen is old hat at bringing amazing food to Omaha. The founder of Godfathers and Pitch, Theisen is in no way ready to slow down. His newest venture, Paragon, will open mid-August. The Dundee restaurant will feature the culinary talent of M’s Pub former chef John Rea. The menu will be largely locally sourced, and in all other cases, use US producers. A menu full of comfort food and local beer and craft cocktails will be a welcome addition to the tree lined, homey feeling of Dundee. Welcome to the neighborhood, Willy!

Fake Meat Gets Real

In 2014, vegan sister and brother duo Aubry and Kale Walch decided to launch a kickstarter to fund the craziest idea their friends and family had ever heard of- a vegan butcher shop. 2 years later, their dream is thriving and they are ready to ship to you! The siblings have flexed every ounce of creativity in the construction of their menu, including Guamanian principles to their spice profiles and a real culinary edge to their line of dairy free cheeses. Order a vegan starter kit or a line of meat-free jerky from their online store. Shipping requires patience, as they send out your package one week after your order is placed, but if you’ve got a yen for vegan, you will find it worth the wait!

Fuzzy New Friend

The former site of Panchero’s in Village Pointe will soon have something new to ‘taco’ bout. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop will set up shop this fall in the spot Panchero’s vacated in 2015. Fuzzy is bringing Baja style tacos, nachos, beer, and margaritas to the shops at 168th and Dodge. With so many amazing taco shops to choose from, can we just officially do away with “Taco Tuesday” and admit we would happily eat them 7 days a week?
