The fourth annual Pinot, Pigs & Poets will be held Thursday, June 6 at Happy Hollow Club, 1701 South 105th Street. Pinot, Pigs & Poets is known as one of Omaha’s premier wine and food events. It features outstanding Pinot Noir wines, savory pork dishes from some of Omaha’s best chefs and quick-witted slam poetry by the Nebraska Writers Collective. The Nebraska Pork Producers Association has been a Pinot, Pigs & Poets sponsor since the first year of the event in 2010. Proceeds from the event benefit the weekend and after-school food programs of Omaha nonprofit Completely KIDS. According to their website, Completely KIDS serves more than 2,000 children in its after-school programs, provides 30,000 meals and sends food home in over 16,000 backpacks. Last year, Pinot, Pigs & Poets raised more than $140,000 to support Completely KIDS. Restaurants participating in Pinot, Pigs & Poets this year include The Boiler Room, The Grey Plume, Happy Hollow Club, j. coco restaurant, Le Voltaire, Lot 2 Restaurant & Wine Bar, Mahogany Prime Steakhouse, M’s Pub, Ryan’s Bistro, Stokes Grill & Bar, and Sullivan’sSteakhouse.
