Grape Stomp

On Sept. 21 celebrate the grape harvest by attending the 4th Annual Loess Hills Wine Festival and Grape Stomp. This event is being held at the River’s Edge Park at the end of the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Admission is $10 and includes live music, a souvenir wine glass, five tickets for wine tasting and the grape stomp. This festival is sponsored by the Western Iowa Grape Growers Association and will feature vineyards and wineries from western Iowa. For more information on tickets and other wine events, visit

Food Truck Round-Up

If you have never tried cuisine from any of Omaha’s popular food trucks, here is a great chance to expand your palette. Friday night, Sept. 20, Whole Foods, 10020 Regency Circle. is having a Food Truck Round-Up. Along with kids activities and music from Omaha Street Percussion, the food trucks will be serving up great fare outside Whole Foods from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Localmotive Food Truck, Chicago Dawgs and Island Seasons will all be in attendance.

Artisan Showcase

No More Empty Pots is having an Artisan Showcase to support local artisans on Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1127 North 20th Street in Omaha. As a participant, you can try samples from Norm’s BBQ Gourmet Sauces and Blends, browse custom painted food-safe ceramics and share a conversations with teens who have spent the summer as interns with City Sprouts. Admission is free and all are welcome. No More Empty Pots is a non-profit organization that focuses on sustainable food security in rural and urban Omaha.
