Bob Mould is an icon but he played with a vigor and vitality during his early evening slot at the Maha Music Festival. There’s little more to say than that, as he covered his entire career in but and pieces during his hourlong slot. Digital Leather meanwhile continued its exciting evolution. Two synth players added to the aggressive guitar, bass and drums trio give a dimension that’s been out of the equation for a long time. Digital Leather is now beyond its synth punk beginnings and its garage rock foundation. This is a harrowing, catchy, loud, fast and damn good incarnation of Digital Leather that is hopefully built to last.
