* 311 have added to the hometown celebration surrounding their July 19 headlining slot at the inaugural Red Sky Festival and the corresponding release of their tenth studio album, Universal Pulse: They will be signing albums at the Old Market location of Homer’s Music, 1210 Howard St. The signing will take place at midnight Tuesday, July 19. Technically, Homer’s will open their doors at 11:59 p.m. Monday night for the signing and midnight sale of 311’s new album. The CD will be sold for $9.99, while the LP will be $16.99.

* Republic Records artist Stephen Jerzak just released a video for “Party Like You’re Single,” off his new album Miles & Miles. The video was filmed in Omaha at the end of May. The Wisconsin native is playing on the Warped Tour, which stops at Westfair Amphitheater in Council Bluffs Thursday, August 4.

* Saddle Creek Records‘ venture into brick-and-mortar music retailing, Saddle Creek Shop, will host a grand opening celebration Saturday, July 9. The shop, 721 North 14th St., opened at the start of this year’s College World Series. The shop carries every in-print Saddle Creek release on CD and vinyl, plus Saddle Creek t-shirts, a curated selection of new vinyl and displays of label memorabilia. The store, connected to Saddle Creek Records’ warehouse, plans to host in-store performances and events. The shop is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with plans to stay open later on big show nights at the neighboring Saddle Creek-owned Slowdown music venue.

* House of Loom, 1012 South 10th St., is set to launch Friday, July 22 with a soft opening. The bar and nightclub is being spearheaded by the founders of the loom DJ dance night. The goal is to bring that roving event’s same core idea of integrating visual art, dance, music and other disciplines in a social environment into one place. The no-cover night will feature live entertainment, though nothing has been announced yet.
