* Registration for the 2014 Omaha Girls Rock camp is now open to girls ages 8 to 18. The camp, which will take place at the Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas St., is also offering two camp sessions. Campers can sign up for camp July 14th to 18th or July 28th to August 1st. Applications can be submitted online at omahagirlsrock.com/camper-registration.

* Digital Leather unveiled a new song “Lately”, as well as the cover art, from their upcoming split LP with Wisconsin two-piece The Hussy. The release features artwork by Digital Leather member Todd Fink and is due out May 6th on Southpaw Records. Digital Leather will also appear as part of the unofficial Goner Records showcase in Austin, Tex. during the South By Southwest music conference Friday, March 14th.

* Local dreamy garage-pop duo Killer Blow has both a new song online and a new video available on YouTube. The video clip is for “Doll”, while another new song “Convent Dropout” is streaming online at soundcloud.com/killerblow.

* Omaha natives 311 will headline a new music festival, which will put the spotlight on a host of local Omaha, Lincoln and Council Bluffs bands. The Grassroots Music Festival will take place Saturday, July 12th at River’s Edge Park in Council Bluffs. The show will also commemorate the 20th anniversary of 311’s album, Grassroots. Tickets for the event go on sale March 11th and can be purchased at the Hive Rock Club, 1207 Harney St., or via Ticketmaster.

* The Big Deep will celebrate the release of their second album, Echoes on the Little Blue, Friday, March 7th at the Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St. The roots-rock/indie rock band recorded the album on a farm in Endicott, Neb. The band will be joined at the release show by Rock Paper Dynamite and Michael Wunder & the Uninspired.

* Lincoln experimental indie act UUVVWWZ crafted a new video for “Broad Sky Blues”, off their 2013 album the trusted language. The video, directed by Harrison Martin, features Chelsea Richardson, a friend of UU singer Teal Gardner, crafting the song’s chorus into American Sign Language and then teaching the gestures to a group of people. The video can be viewed on Youtube.
