Pablo Francisco is making his annual trip to Omaha at The Funny Bone on May 17th and will be here through May 20th. Pablo has been coming to Omaha for a while now and always has a great turnout to his shows. Jeremy Lafrentz from Backstage Entertainment got a chance to speak with Pablo in a phone interview to talk about him preparing to come to town.

Pablo talked about his new Comedy Central special “They Put It Out There” and the release to DVD shortly after. In the special Pablo said he uses impersonations to crack jokes and talks about some stories he’s come across that seem funny to him. When gathering material for his new special he said he went back to his other stand-up hits “Bits and Pieces” and “Ouch!” to see what the audience would love to see again and portray a similar style.

When asking about how he feels about coming back to the Omaha area we talked about the weather mostly. We know in the Midwest that it can do a number of things during a single day and Pablo brought up a time he was in Norway and saw it change from hot and nice weather to snowing to raining and back to hot again. You really never know what kind of weather you will be experiencing in the Midwest but he will be here toward the end of May which normally has about perfect weather.

He also mentioned that he would like to team up with Backstage Entertainment and The Reader to show fans some behind the scenes footage and truly show what life can be like off stage. We’ll be trying to catch Pablo from his busy schedule and in his time in Omaha to do an in-person interview and backstage footage to show the fans another side to Pablo. Keep watching The Reader’s website and Backstage Entertainment for that.
