* The Electroliners are ready to release a new EP of original country western tunes and they’ll celebrate their new batch of songs Saturday, January 4th with a release show at the Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St. The Electroliners specialize in lonesome tear-in-your-beer heartache, delivered with a classic Western swing. The show will feature opening sets by the Love Technicians and Mariachi Zapata.

* The Hive Lounge is finally open in its new downtown location and has been rebranded as the Hive Rock Club & Art Gallery. Located at 1207 Harney St., the Hive has returned live music to the Old Market. The spot was formerly occupied by Vincenzo’s restaurant. Hive owner Jake Gardner has wisely invested in a quality sound system for the club and built a sterling stage and a cavernous live room that sounded excellent on a recent Thursday as reggae act Rhythm Collective grooved on stage. Honestly, this is a stage that any local band should be eager to play, as it presents a good middle point between bar stages like the Barley Street Tavern and bigger venues like the Waiting Room Lounge.

* Four different versions of Elvis Presley will take the stage at the Holland Center, 1200 Douglas St. in 2014. The event Saturday, February 11th will feature Elvis impersonators Dean Z, Bill Cherry and Jay Dupuis resurrecting Elvis in tribute to the legendary performer’s different eras. Elvis Lives will also feature multimedia and imagery from the Graceland archives. Tickets are $35 and available from ticketomaha.com.
