Just when you thought there weren’t any more genres in the music world, “jamtronica” is now a part of the seemingly endless list. The Boulder, Colorado group, Big Gigantic, falls into this category.  A clever concoction of colorful jazz and dynamic dance beats, the magnitude of sound Big Gigantic creates comes from (surprisingly) just two people. Producer/saxophonist Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken formed Big Gigantic in 2008 once they realized how similar their musical tastes were. The Wide Awake EP and debut album, Fire It Up, have amassed over 70,000 downloads to date and the number is only growing. Thanks to their improvisational live shows and infectious energy, Big Gigantic is on their way to being, uh, big. (Kyle Eustice)
