Hullabaloo Music & Camping Festival

River West Park, 233rd and Maple streets

Organized by Brandon Miller of the Kris Lager Band, the Hullabaloo Music & Camping Festival is embarking on its inaugural year. The three-day festival in western Douglas County is a blues-and-rock answer to the Love Fest in the Midwest, held earlier this year. While that event catered to a crowd of new wave hippies and drew a few bigger regional and touring bands, Hullabaloo’s first year is centered on local acts and enjoying the great outdoors. The Kris Lager Band plays sets Friday and Saturday, while other local acts include Funk Trek, Polydypsia, Blue Martian Tribe, Sons of 76 and more. Miller and his team are committed to running the event beyond this year, so the chance of Hullabaloo growing from its local band roots is promising. If Hullabaloo enjoys the success of Love Fest, a hope for bigger camping festivals in the area could sit on the horizon.
