Of the 40 works, spanning antiquity to the 20th Century, some of the pieces have traveled coast-to-coast and beyond, from Los Angeles’ J. Paul Getty Museum to MoMA to the Louvre, while others have remained behind, jewels of the vault. Together they signal the richness and depth of Joslyn’s collection and the strength of its reputation. The exhibit is paired with New & Noteworthy: Recent Acquisitions of Modern and Contemporary Art, boasting many significant works new on display.
