The final showcase to help select the local bands performing at the inaugural Red Sky Music Festival features three Omaha bands and one from Des Moines. The Confidentials have become one of the Midwest’s premier party hosts with their unique blend of funk, jazz, and reggae. The power ten-act are known for their funky, soulful good-natured and spirited live performances. Jamming with fellow members of the 808 Band, Steve Villamonte’s music can be described as homegrown rock with a fusion of funk, soul and saxophone. Matt Gagne & The Blues Experience is a power house trio playing modern electric blues/rock in the styles of Stevie Rae Vaughn and Buddy Guy. Cleos Apartment is a new breed of Hip-Hop/acid jazz from Des Moines. With tenants playing turntables, keyboards, and live drums, their show is like the house party you never want to leave.
