Artists J.K. Thorsen and Evelyn Render- Katz will be the featured artists April 1 to May 2  at Connect Gallery, 39th and Leavenworth. The opening with artists present is May 1, 4-7 p.m.

Both women tend toward a lush, intense palette with an Abstract Expressionist tendency—veering toward “happy colors”—easy on the eye.

Thorsen’s on-going themes are generally landscape-oriented, and based on earth-friendly media, for less impact on the environment, including Whole Oils on re-purposed brass.  Render-Katz focuses on color, line and movement in her work.

Additional gallery events for this exhibit include: A gallery talk and soiree, April 17 from 5-9 p.m., artists paint on site, April 18, 2-4 p.m., a First Friday party, May 1, 4-7 p.m. and an artist’s demonstration May 2, 2-4 p.m.

The two friends will complement each other’s work—eye-candy promised.
