Modern Arts Midtown Grand Opening Celebration

Modern Arts Midtown, 3615 Dodge St.

6-10p.m., FREE, 402.502.8737

Larry and Judy Roots celebrate the opening of their second contemporary art gallery, Modern Arts Midtown, an expansion “both physically and conceptually” of their original Modern Arts Midwest in Lincoln.  In the eight years the couple have conducted over 100 regional artists exhibitions at the Lincoln location. They want to make the Omaha location “a place for visual learning where art makers and art admirers convene.”  The opening at the former Eisenberg Gallery location, with over 10,000 square feet of renovated space, will feature a broad selection of their more thaan 60 represented artists.  There will be painting, photography, ceramic, textile printmaking and sculpture.  Said Larry Roots, “Our artists are both national and leading emerging artists including John Himmelfarb, Catherine Ferguson, Jacqueline Kluver, Larry Ferguson, Michael James, Colin Smith and Judith Burton.” Roots, a painter and sculptor, is also represented by the gallery.
