The organization dedicating their time to educate and support public schools by documenting stories happening all across Nebraska schools is known as Nebraska Loves Public Schools (NelovesPS). Since 2011 this organization has been documenting stories of those involved in public schools and on Wednesday, Jan. 27 participants are invited to host or attend watch parties of the film Consider the Alternative. Viewers will receive a better understanding of publicly funded charter schools by hearing directly from those in public schools. From the teachers and administrators to the supporters, members of the legislature and Nebraska State Board of Education and of course, the parents. More than 2,000 audience members throughout 60 film screenings have already seen this film in order to discuss charter and public schools and closing the achievement gap. The participants of the watch parties will participate in an online discussion about public schools in their community. To view upcoming Day of Action screenings or to request a screening, visit nelovesps.org/january27 or to watch the Consider the Alternative trailer and learn more about the film, visit nelovesps.org/story/considerthealternative.
