May 19-22 Omaha Storm Chasers homestand versus Las Vegas 51s Werner Park, near Hwy 370 and 126th Street, just outside Papillion Game times vary; ticket prices from $6 to $16.50 402.735.5100 Ah, the modern minor league baseball experience has finally caught up with Omaha. Sure, the metro’s hosted clubs for generations, but not until the Royals, er, the Storm Chasers, switched to Werner Park this season had there been anything like the super fan-friendly, family-centric confines of this new facility. For die-hards who care about what happens on the field, there’s a wide-open concourse with unimpeded views. For the casually inclined, berms invite sprawling and sunbathing. For kids, there’s the Fun Zone. Add in the promotions between innings, the special attractions, the discount nights and the usual ballpark sights, sounds and smells, and it’s good times. It doesn’t hurt that the Storm Chasers are winning and boast a talent-loaded young lineup bound for the Bigs. This Little Show rocks.
