The Holland Performing Arts Center has hosted some incredible artists since its 2000 inception. Almost every genre of music has transcended the air in the expansive concert hall. This time, Broadway singer and actress Patty LuPone, who is affectionately referred to as “The First Lady of the American Broadway Theatre,” makes her way to center stage to showcase her wide array of Grammy Award-winning songs this Friday. Performing her solo show, “The Gypsy In My Soul,” LuPone will sing cabaret-style hits and Tony Award-winning originals. Also known for her television roles in shows such as Will and Grace, Ugly Betty and Life Goes On, LuPone has built an incredible repertoire of credits over the course of her lengthy career. While she is mainly focused on her music, she is slated for another film role in 2012’s upcoming action-thriller, Parker. It seems as nothing can slow down the amazingly spry 62-year-old entertainer. –Kyle Eustice
