The second installment of Benson First Friday includes open art shows within bars, restaurants, window fronts, artist studios, found spaces and businesses, as well as live music, performances, fashion show and after-dark projections going on into the night. The craziness includes a kissing booth, live mural painting and t-shirt stencils at Petshop; an artist market curated by Miss Cake followed by a Drag Event at the Benson Theatre Space; Nebraska video artists exhibiting at The Sydney; canvas paintings at Jake’s Cigars; Artist Wayne Brekke and blacksmith Scott Smith at Jerry’s Bar; “Concrete Catwalk” fashion event along Maple Street; “Sharpened Clothing” group show at Barley Street Tavern; Justin Beller at DP Muller Photography; summer art show at Blue Pomegranate and so much more. It’s sure to awaken the culture vulture within.
