The Cave Singers w/ Mount Moriah and Jesse Sykes

The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

9 p.m., $13, onepercentproductions.com

Seattle’s the Cave Singers just released their fourth album, Naomi, earlier this year, continued to craft a moodier, groovier vibe onto their indie folk-rock style. The band seem reinvigorated working with producer Phil Ek, expanding their sound without losing that sense of midnight angst that has colored their best songs. Joining them will be Mount Moriah, led by singer/guitarist Heather McEntire. The band’s latest album, Miracle Temple, bears an emotionally resonant take on alternative country and folk, played in the spirit of a seasoned bar band. If these songs are any indication, McEntire is well on her way to joining the rarified air of twangy singers like Neko Case and Gillian Welch.
