The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

The long wait for Eric Hutchinson’s follow-up to his debut album, Sounds Like This, is nearly over. That album generated more than a million downloads among the album’s three singles “Rock & Roll”, “OK, It’s Alright With Me” and “Oh”. Now after a nearly five year break, the acoustic pop singer will unveil Moving Up Living Down this month. “Watching You Watch Him”, the handclap-laden first single, tows the line between sophisticated gem and radio-ready pop hit. He’s collected scores of dedicated fans, while establishing himself as a pop-smart, witty contemporary of acts like Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson and Gavin DeGraw.
