Foxy Shazam

The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

8 p.m., $12, onepercentproductions.com

Led by charismatic lead singer Eric Sean Nally, Fozy Shazam has stoked anew the fire of over-the-top 70’s glam rock ‘n’ roll, with a sound that skips from Queen, Meat Loaf, Thin Lizzy to the Darkness. In fact, Darkness front man Justin Hawkins partnered with the Ohio-based band to produce their 2012 opus The Church of Rock and Roll. They keep the campiness in check just enough to let the rock truly flow, and does it ever, with big, meaty guitar solos, pouding piano lines and a gang of backing vocals grandly backing up the sky-high yelps of Nally, which all go to testify to the very power of rock bands.
