The Future Of Maha Showcase w/ Lightning Bug, Millions Of Boys and Snake Island!

The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

9 p.m., FREE, onepercentproductions.com

The idea behind this free show is to spotlight up-and-coming area acts that are well on their way to gracing the local music stage at Omaha’s own indie music event, the Maha Music Festival. The show showcases an interesting variety of rock. Millions of Boys plays an indie punk-pop style that gives nods to early Green Day and Superchunk in the same song. Singer/guitarist Sara Bertuldo leads the energetic trio. Snake Island! comes with a psychedelic garage punk that leans dark, drawing on influences like the 13th Floor Elevators, the Black Angels and the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Lightning Bug are genre-bending post-hardcore kids who are starting to mature into headier indie rock territory.
