Akihiko Izukura’s chic, wearable art is known for its distinctively modern, yet traditional style inspired by ancient kimono techniques from Kyoto, Japan. They specialize in weaving and dyeing fabric with natural materials as well as their use of Kumiori, a braiding technique nearly lost in history. The large collection of exquisite hand-woven jackets and scarves, accented by bold and elegant artful twists, will be brought by Michiko Hoshi from New York City to Omaha’s Anderson O’Brien Fine Art Gallery October 9-11th to be available for viewing and purchase.
