Artist Dorothy Tuma is well known around Omaha for her photography of prairie landscapes and buildings.  This month she shows alongside Wendy M. Wright, PhD, Creighton Professor of Theology in Le Point Verge, an exhibit featuring images of the Virgin Mary within the context of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Dr. Wright saw Tuma’s book, The Beauty of Thy House, with images of St. Cecilia Cathedral, and asked her to photograph images of Mary in Los Angeles. Because of its diverse population, this Archdiocese developed into a global Catholicism. The images, taken over a seven-year pilgrimage by Dr. Wright and Tuma, sensitively illustrate the diverse churches, sacred spaces and outside.
