Moreland & Arbuckle hail from Wichita, Kan., where they continue to pump out their own raw, rough blues rock. The band, guitarist Aaron Moreland and vocalist/blues harp player Dustin Arbuckle, double down on the hard-edged rock quotient in their sound on their new album, 7 Cities. The band now has a full-time drummer Kendall Newby and they worked with Mastodon and Ladyfinger producer Matt Bayles on this album. It’s a concept record, detailing the exploits of Spanish explorer Coronado. The band still keeps a whole host of the blues in their sound, drawing on funkier R&B strains and old-school Chicago blues riffing. So whether it’s the Black Keys or fat slabs of blues guitar that get you moving, Moreland & Arbuckle have you covered.
