Sept. 11

Old 97s w/ Those Darlins & Rhett Miller solo

The Slowdown, 729 North 14th St.

9 p.m., $20 in advance/$25 day-of-show, onepercentproductions.com

Stuart Ransom Miller, serial lady killer, and his band the Old 97s will revisit 1997 and Too Far To Care, the album that best brought together the Texas act’s collision of stomping, boozy country-rock and melodic British Invasion pop sensibilities. The band will play their third record in its entirety, followed by a selection of hits from the band’s other nine albums. Stuart Ransom is better known as Rhett and will also play a solo acoustic set of songs from his four solo records. In between the two sets, the rising alt.country/garage rock girl-fronted Those Darlins will take the stage.
