Renoir to Chagall: Paris and the Allure of Color

Members Opening Saturday, 6-8 pm

Joslyn Art Museum

If the “City of Light” is not on your radar this summer either in place or in time, the Joslyn Art Museum offers the next best thing with its new exhibit, Renoir to Chagall: Paris and the Allure of Color. Featuring nearly 50, 19th century Impressionistic paintings, the exhibit is part of the collection of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee and it includes three Renoirs, two Monets, two Degas, two Chagalls and additional works from Pissarro, Cezanne, Cassatt, Sargent, Matissee and many others. Those familiar with Joslyn’s beloved Little Dancer sculpture by Degas and its works by Cassatt and Pissarro, among others, will especially enjoy this opportunity during a summer long list of events until the show’s closing Sept. 1, 2013. Those include a JAMA Annual Gala, Friday, June 7 and a Family Fun Day this Sunday, June 8, from 1-4 pm.
