The Reverend Horton Heat w/ Larry & His Flask and the Goddamned Gallows

The Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.

8 p.m., $20, onepercentproductions.com

Jim Heath and his punked-up, psychobilly bandmates are well-known in these parts, having played tons of shows in town the last two decades. The Reverend has grown with his loyal fanbase, adding more elements of classic country as he’s gotten older. Still, the band is red-hot and highly skilled, as their performance at 2011’s Maha Music Festival proved. Meanwhile, the band continues to shine the light on other deserving acts, while line-ups that almost seem curatorial. This time, Heat fans would be wise to show up and see the demented jug band style of Larry and His Flask. The Oregon band plays punk-drunk bluegrass rave-ups that would beat the crap out of Mumford & Sons.
