The Drums w/ Craft Spells, Part Time

The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

9 p.m., $15, onepercentproductions.com

Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham formed the Drums out of an idea to form an indie band that split the difference between ’60s Phil Spector girl group-style pop music and moody ’80s Brit-indie acts like the Smiths and the Factory Records stable. The New York-based duo worked in Florida until they knew they were on to something, then they recruited a few more members to form a band and built quick buzz in the New York club scene. Now, the Drums have two full albums worth of swirling, melodic and undeniably catchy indie-pop that is uniquely their own.  Opener Craft Spells have built their own buzz out of their home in California, bringing a home-spun lo-fi element to their ’80s-rooted electro-pop.
