Hey Day on Mayday

25th and Harney St.

5 p.m.-9 p.m., Free

Transportation in Omaha is changing, and local organizations are on the front lines to ensure all modes of transit will have a place in the city transportation master plan (TMP). To celebrate the hopeful passing of the transit plan revisions, citizen group ModeShift has organized an outdoor street fair and open house for residents to learn more about the final plan and experience an evening on one of the proposed street projects. “We are working with the City to showcase how wonderful active, livable street design can be,” said member Ryan McClure.

A discussion of the TMP will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed by entertainment and a multitude of outdoor activities. Local establishments will provide food and beverages to keep the fun rolling all evening.

Use of active transportation to the event is encouraged. For information on bicycle or bus routes, visit www.modeshiftomaha.org.
