Twinsmith w/ Gordon, Noah’s Ark Was a Spaceship

Twinsmith are now fully emerging from their evolutionary phase, having risen from the ashes of Jordan Smith and Matt Regner’s previous band Betsy Wells. Joined by Bill Sharp and drummer Oliver Morgan (Landing on the Moon, Little Brazil), Twinsmith play a taut, energetic stlye of indie rock that is layered without being cluttered. It’s sunshine pop delivered within a modern indie rock context. It’s a style that’s smartly outside of typical Omaha indie rock tropes, instead affixing itself in a world somewhere between Band of Horses and literate rockers like the Cold War Kids, Grizzly Bear and Ra Ra Riot. Doses of shimmering guitar and coolly delivered vocals give an appropriate summertime air on the eight songs that make up the band’s self-titled CD debut, which will be released at this show. After the show, the band then hits the road for a string of Midwest and East Coast tour dates, including an appointment with the tastemaking recording session blog Daytrotter.
