Wild Belle w/ Saint Rich, Satchel Grande

The Waiting Room Lounge, 6212 Maple St.

9 p.m., $10, onepercentproductions.com

Siblings Elliot and Natalie Bergman joined together to form Wild Belle in 2011, taking along some of the lessons from Nomo, the mostly-instrumental jazz fusion Afrobeat project that Elliot led. Those lessons are applied to a globe-trotting and retro-tinged batch of indie pop songs, delivered effortlessly with Natalie’s smooth, smoldering vocals. Songs on the band’s 2013 debut Isles borrow from light-footed reggae, 70s funk and bubbling electro-pop. Horn parts buoy these songs, adding to the tropical guitar work. The effortless arrangements on “It’s Too Late” and “Keep You” lead to songs that sound surprisingly relaxed and loose-limbed even with the pulse with an strong rhythmic foundation.
