Night Moves w/ Adult Films and the Renfields

The Slowdown, 729 North 14th St.

9 p.m., $7, slowburnomaha.com

Night Moves basically hit the ground running. The Minnneapolis indie act honed their act before they started playing shows. They quickly earned notice from Minneapolis weekly City Pages, which named them the city’s best new band earlier this year. Long-running indie label Domino Records took notice too, issuing the band’s debut album Colored Emotions to the world earlier this fall. The band strikes a balance between indie electro-pop acts like MGMT and harmonizing indie-folk bands like Fleet Foxes. Individual songs slide between those two sides starting with pastoral acoustic arrangements and building to psychedelic bliss pop. It’s all wrapped in a slight production haze, which ties together the electronic elements to moments of twang to create a ethereal, spacey folk-pop.
