Peerless Gallery will host a one-night exhibit highlighting Nebraska women artists. It is co-organized by writer/blogger Sally Deskins. Deskins’ blog, Les Femmes Folles, is dedicated to regional female artists in all mediums and this show reflects that interest. The exhibit is curated by local artist/instructors Wands Ewing and Kim Reid-Kuhn who will feature, along with their own art, new work from Lisa Boumstein-Smalley, Dana Damewood, Jackie Sterba, Becca Herskovitz, Lalaya Lalley, Sara Graf and Ying Zhu.

Ewing, who just returned from her residency in Buenos Aires, and Reid-Kuhn, a regional artist and curator, have spent the past week creating work in Peerless exclusively for this exhibit. “We are just some strong women showing our work,” Wanda said of the participants.

The organizers plan to “go big” for this one-night pop-up with entertainment provided by violinist Kaitlyn Filippini, vocalist Rene Gosch and her band Blue Rosa, along with music spun by X-Rated Women in Music, a community radio show on KZUM. Refreshments will be provided by Two Birds Bakery, Nosh Wine Lounge and Upstream Brewing Company.
