The Monkees

The Monkees took 60’s bubblegum pop to the next level in the mid-to-late 60s

with their television show and a glut of hummable Beatles-lite hits. While they

never strayed from their hook-laden pop music beginnings, the wonder is that

those songs hold up 45 years later. It’s doubtful that the teen-pop of Miley

Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers will age the same way. The trio of Davy Jones,

Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork are commemorating all the hits, reuniting to play

shows for the first time in nearly a decade. ?
