By now, there is probably not a single person in Nebraska who has not heard of 311. In fact, it would challenging to find anyone in the United States that has not heard of the popular rap-rock group. They are huge. Since the early 90’s, members Nick Hexum, Chad Sexton, S.A. Martinez, Aaron “P-Nut” Willis and Tim Mahoney have been on a steady grind pushing their music to the masses. With several highly successful albums under their belts, the boys still manage to make time to show love to their hometown. Known for their massive summer tours, this year is no exception. Embarking on 40 dates with Slightly Stoopid and SOJA (on select dates), 311 brings their hybrid of reggae, rock, rap and funk to Stir Cove this Friday. Love them or hate them, they helped put Omaha on the musical map. Show some gratitude. (Kyle Eustice)

311, July 6, at Harrah’s Stir Concert Cove, Council Bluffs, 6 pm. Tickets are $40. Visit www.harrahscouncilbluffs.com for more information.
