More than 20 ceramics artists will display their works during an annual pottery event.
The Omaha North Hills Pottery Tour will return this October. The self-guided tour will feature works from 22 artists displayed at five stops, including two pottery studios and nearby attractions.
A press release for the event said artists joining the tour for the first time this year are Maxine Burton of Plattsmouth; Tony Borchardt of Florissant, Missouri; Makenzie Raymundo of Omaha and Javier Fox of Kearney.
The free tour runs north of Omaha along Highway 75 from Omaha’s Florence Mill to Fort Calhoun, on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The unique stops will include a historic Mormon grain mill, an 1800s schoolhouse, a winetasting bar and two clay studios. Each stop offers the opportunity to not only experience clay art first-hand, but also to meet the makers.
The Omaha North Hills Pottery Tour was founded in 2004 and is currently managed by a committee of its participating potters, with Dennison Pottery and Crescent Moon Pottery as anchor studios.
